Ashley Cole admits he must be back playing before the end of the season if he wants to keep his World Cup dreams alive.Cole has been beset by injury this season and he suffered a new ankle injury on his comeback from a thigh problem earlier this week.
England coach Sven Goran Eriksson has already affirmed he will give Cole as much time as he wants in order to get fit - but the Arsenal full back insists he needs to be back playing for The Gunners within the next two months.
"The World Cup is in the back of my mind," Cole told Arsenal's website
"But my main concern is getting back for Arsenal. I've got to be playing for Arsenal before I can get back in contention for England."
On England, Cole remains confident that The Three Lions can go a long way in Germany.
"If everyone stays fit and we keep the same squad we've had in recent years then we've got a really great chance," he concluded.
