Huth welcomes Ballack interest

Robert Huth has welcomed Chelsea's reported interest in Michael Ballack.

Robert Huth has welcomed Chelsea's reported interest in Germany team-mate Michael Ballack.

Ballack's agent Michael Becker has claimed Chelsea are leading the race to sign the Bayern Munich star in the summer.

The goalscoring midfielder is a free agent at the end of the season with his current contract due to expire.

A number of clubs are thought to be lining up moves for Ballack, but Huth is hoping to persuade him to move to Stamford Bridge.

"If he comes, I'd be glad to have him in the team, but if he doesn't, I'll wish him all the best wherever he goes," Huth told The Times.

"He's a great player and would definitely add something to the team.

"Any club would love to have him and he'll make his decision at the end of the season.

"If he wants to talk to me about it, then I'm happy to help him, but if he doesn't, I'm not going to be upset as it's his future.

"I don't have one bad word to say about Chelsea, the supporters and the players and would recommend the club to him."
