March returns for Cole and Sol

Arsene Wenger hopes to have Ashley Cole and Sol Campbell back playing this month.

Arsene Wenger hopes to have Ashley Cole and Sol Campbell back playing before the end of this month.

The Arsenal boss confirmed that Cole's latest injury setback would see him sidelined for at least three weeks.

Cole injured his ankle playing for Arsenal's reserves on Monday - which was his comeback match following groin trouble, which has sidelined him since last year.

"Ashley will be out for three weeks minimum because of an ankle sprain," said Wenger.

"It is on the left foot and it is nothing to do with the surgery he had before, but it is still a pain that stops you from playing."

Campbell too has an ankle problem, but Wenger feels the central defender is a week ahead of Cole in his bid for fitness.

"He is doing very well in training," Wenger told Arsenal TV.

"I believe he will be out for another two weeks maximum.

"One week to get back to full training and another week to get back for a run-out in a game."

Wenger did confirm that Freddie Ljungberg and Dennis Bergkamp were available again and are likely to feature against Fulham, but the game will come too soon for Robin van Persie.

"Freddie and Dennis are alright," Wenger said.

"Robin van Persie should be very, very close over the weekend.

"He still cannot put his boot on yet, but we hope he will be available for next week.

"Kerrea Gilbert is still out then we have the usual ones - Lauren and [Gael] Clichy - who are still completely out.

"Many players are coming back, but we still have to be patient unfortunately."
