Lokomotiv Moscow have emerged as the club who are keen on signing Alexei Smertin.

It was revealed recently that a Russian club had offered the 30-year-old a route back to his homeland, and Lokomotiv president Valeri Filatov has now confirmed his interest.

"We're interested in signing Alexei Smertin but only on certain terms," he admitted.

"I've talked with Smertin and his agent but we haven't had talks with Charlton. Therefore this is open to question."

Smertin is currently on the books of Chelsea, although he is presently on a season-long loan deal at The Valley.
