Di Canio set for Lazio talks

Paolo Di Canio's agent has played down reports of a move to Australia.

Paolo Di Canio's agent has played down reports linking the player with a move to Australia.

Sydney FC have declared an interest in the Lazio forward as they search for a replacement for Dwight Yorke.

Di Canio's current contract at Lazio expires at the end of the season and the former West Ham and Celtic star's representative Matteo Roggi insists the player is keen to stay at Lazio.

"I have not had any contact from anyone regarding Paolo," Moggi told skysports.com.

"We have got a meeting in the next couple of weeks with the president of Lazio to discuss a new deal.

"Paolo is hoping to play on for another year and we have an agreement with Lazio that they will review his position at the end of each season.

"Paolo is waiting to see what happens if Lazio offer him a new deal and even if does not play on he is set to take his coaching badges at the Italian Football Federation."
