Messi: It could have been worse

Lionel Messi admits his hamstring problem could have been more serious.

Lionel Messi is sad about having picked up a hamstring injury, but admits his problem could have been more serious.

The Argentine superstar limped off early on in Barcelona's UEFA Champions League clash with Chelsea on Tuesday.

A scan has revealed he suffered a strain to his right hamstring and has been informed he will likely be out of action for a month.

Messi says it is a blow to be missing games at the business end of the season, but admits it could have turned out worse.

"I am very sorry that I couldn't end the game because it was very important for me," he said.

"Now the only thing that I can do is to wait and recover in the best way as possible and the positive thing is that I didn't have something more serious because I could have been more time without playing.

"Now I have to be patient and do exactly what the doctors tell me to do."
