More injury misery for Yeovil
Yeovil Town have been rocked by news of yet another injury to a key first-teamer.
Yeovil Town have been rocked by news of yet another injury to a key first-teamer.
Having lost both Tommy Doherty and Anthony Barry against Chesterfield on Saturday, Glovers boss Steve Thompson will now have to shuffle his defensive pack to find cover for Kevin Amankwaah.
The former Bristol City right back turned an ankle when appearing to stand on the ball during Yeovil's 2-1 capitulation at home to Brentford on Tuesday and is now set for a month on the sidelines.
Amankwaah had only recently returned to his favoured position after a spell spent filling in for inspirational centre half Terry Skiverton, who himself came back from surgery on a double hernia against The Spireites.
Amankwaah's foraging right wing runs will be sorely missed by The Glovers, who still have some way to go before ensuring that they will be playing League One football next season.
Meanwhile, it has been confirmed that Barry will miss the remainder of the season. The young midfielder dislocated his kneecap at Chesterfield, and it was widely expected that he would not return to action until the summer.
Yeovil physio Glen Schmidt told the club's official website: "We will be putting Anthony through a carefully designed package of remedial work to get him back playing at the start of the season."
