Figo loving life at Inter

Luis Figo has spoken of his utmost contentment with life at Internazionale.

Luis Figo has spoken of his utmost contentment with life at Internazionale.

The Portuguese wide man left Real Madrid for Inter in the summer with the words of his detractors ringing in his ears, with many of the opinion that his best days were firmly behind him.

In Serie A, Figo has proven he is still a class act and the talented schemer claims it is the winning ethos engrained at the club that is keeping him enthused.

''Inter are fantastic because they have good players, who have worked in a good way and because there is a winning mentality, which I like,'' he told Corriere dello Sport.

''This season we've missed sometimes consistency in results. But should we concentrate, we feel physically in a good way and we believe in the possibilities.

''It's possible that we can always win.''

Inter will have to demonstrate such a desire to keep on winning if they are to progress to the latter stages of the UEFA Champions League, with Ajax awaiting on Tuesday following a 2-2 draw in the first leg in Amsterdam.

''Winning the Champions League? It will depend on Tuesday against Ajax and how much we believe in it,'' he concluded.

''We have the same possibilities as the other sides.''
