Ballack set for quick switch?

Michael Ballack's agent claims the star could join Chelsea before the World Cup finals.

Michael Ballack's agent claims the German superstar could join Chelsea before the World Cup finals - with the London club the only side currently in talks.

The Germany international is out of contract at Bayern Munich at the end of the current campaign and Chelsea are in pole position for his signature despite interest from the likes of Internazionale and Real Madrid.

Jose Mourinho has already confirmed he is desperate to link Ballack with Frank Lampard in the centre of his midfield, and the 29-year-old has reportedly been offered a £120,000-a-week deal to move to Stamford Bridge.

Now agent Michael Becker has indicated that Ballack could resolve his future before the World Cup finals in his home country, with Chelsea currently the solitary contenders for his signature.

"The transfer window opens in May and the World Cup is coming up," Becker told the BBC.

"I think there is definitely something happening before the World Cup.

"There is interest from other clubs but Chelsea are the only club we are talking to at the moment.

"Right now we are exclusively talking to Chelsea."
