Flamini wants Les Bleus chance

Mathieu Flamini is hoping he can force his way into the French World Cup squad.

The 22-year-old has been filling in at left back for Arsenal in recent weeks, and has settled into the position as if he has been playing there for years.

Flamini is more comfortable in the centre of midfield, however, and he is hoping that his playing time for The Gunners could lead to a phone call from Les Bleus boss Raymond Domenech.

"When you play in the starting XI of a big club like Arsenal, it's an objective to be part of the national team - even if it's not an obsession," he told the club's official website.

"It is somewhere in my head and it would be a great pleasure to go to this World Cup. Why not?

"Domenech calls the players who deserve it - even if they are young - and I think it is a very good thing."
