Everton's James Vaughan is to visit a specialist in America about his knee injury.
Everton youngster James Vaughan is to visit a specialist in America in a bid to find out what is wrong with his troublesome knee.Vaughan has been ruled out for the entire season with the problem that he picked up whilst away with the England Under-18 squad in the summer.
Everton's youngest ever goalscorer had hoped that this season would be the start of a prosperous Premiership career but treatment to heal the injury has so far been unsuccessful.
"James goes to the USA next week for a second opinion on his knee, he won't play this season now," confirmed manager David Moyes.
"James hasn't played this season even though he has been training regularly now for a while.
"But his knee still has swelling on it and we are not happy about it.
"He had a cartilage operation earlier in the season but his knee isn't settling and we are sending him to see Dr Steadman in America.
"He's had an unlucky time, he hasn't played this season and was injured while away with the England youth last summer."
