Lippi pleased with Totti recovery

Italy coach Marcello Lippi is pleased with Francesco Totti's recovery from a broken ankle.

Italy coach Marcello Lippi is pleased with Francesco Totti's recovery from a broken ankle and is hopeful the striker will make the World Cup.

The Roma striker remains a major doubt for this summer's prestigious tournament in Germany after suffering the horrific injury back in February.

Lippi recently saw Totti walking without crutches and that has given him renewed hope the Giallorossi star could be at his disposal in Germany.

"It's encouraging seeing him walking on his legs a month after the bad injury he suffered," Lippi told Gazzetta dello Sport.

"For me, the most beautiful thing has been Francesco's serene reaction to the injury and his big desire to recover.

"It's necessary for this to continue and hopefully he could be back in action before the World Cup."
