Sheri wants to tackle son
West Ham forward Teddy Sheringham is driven to fulfil a lifelong dream.
Teddy Sheringham is set to play on for another season after signing a new deal with West Ham and he is driven to fulfil a lifelong dream. The veteran forward has won virtually every honour available to him and could be forgiven for easing off the throttle just a day shy of his 40th birthday.
He appears to have one remaining goal, though, to play on the same pitch as his son, Charlie.
Charlie Sheringham is currently on trial at Crystal Palace, having moved on from Ipswich, and his famous father is hoping his son can win a deal to keep his dream alive.
"I'm hoping to play against him soon," said Sheringham senior. "He's 18 soon so he's also got a big birthday coming up.
"He's on trial at Crystal Palace after being released by Ipswich, so hopefully something will come of that.
"He's very similar to me, but he's a young lad trying to find his way in the game.
"Understanding the ways of football is a tough journey for any young player, so we will just have to see how he gets on."
