Portsmouth midfielder Sean Davis has launched a scathing attack on Michael Brown, claiming the Fulham man tried to break his leg.Brown was shown a straight red card on Saturday for a shocking, two-footed lunge at Davis.
Davis was able to continue after lengthy treatment, but admits he was lucky to walk away from a tackle he believes was malicious.
"He tried to break my leg," Davis told the Daily Mirror. "I know because I saw him look at me and I know he tried to do me.
"I didn't want to go down because I didn't want to show he hurt me but he did catch me quite well on the ankle.
"I think if I'd gone in for it a bit more he could have broken my ankle."
The duo were team-mates at Tottenham and Pompey chief Harry Redknapp claimed after the game that there was no love lost between the pair and Davis was just happy to walk away following the win.
"We've won the game, he's got sent off so I hold no grudges," said Davis. "But if that's what you have to do to reduce him then that's what happens. He's only an average player anyway."
