Jim McIntyre is the latest player to fall victim to Craig Brewster's cull at Dundee United.Brewster is determined to overhaul his Tannadice squad and recently informed Derek McInnes, Paul Ritchie and David Fernandez that they would be surplus to requirements come the summer.
The trio will be followed through the door by striker McIntyre, who has failed to convince Brewster of his talents in the last couple of months.
McIntyre has over a year to run on his contract and will speak with club officials to thrash out a severance package.
"Jim McIntyre has been told he can go," Brewster told the Daily Record. "I've spoken to him and he will be seeing the chairman next week to sort out his position.
"Jim's only played in two games since I've been here because of a slipped disc in his neck. But I thought it was better to tell him now so that he has a better chance of finding a club elsewhere.
"It's always tough telling boys this news as it was the rest earlier this week. That will be it for just now so we can concentrate on matters on the field."
