Agent: Prem interest in Alex star

Premiership clubs are eyeing a move for Madjid Bougherra, says the player's agent.

Madjid Bougherra's agent has claimed that Premiership clubs are in the hunt for the on-loan Crewe defender.

The 23-year-old arrived at Gresty Road from Gueugnon for the second half of the season and has performed well despite the relegation of Dario Gradi's side.

The Algerian international has a year left on his contract with the French club but his agent, Charles Collymore, believes the player's future could lie in England - and possibly The Premiership.

"There is a lot of interest in Madjid," Collymore said. "Three Premiership clubs have expressed an interest as well as a number of Championship clubs.

"At the moment, we just want to let the lad get the rest of the season out of the way before anything is concrete but there is a good chance that he will be in England again next year."

Bougherra has made ten appearances for Alex in The Championship but is unlikely to return to the club after fulfilling the final two matches of this season.
