Mido unsure of Spurs stay

Egyptian star Mido has revealed that he hopes to extend his stay at Tottenham.

Egyptian star Mido has revealed that he hopes to extend his stay at Tottenham, but is ready to move on if a deal cannot be struck.

Spurs are keen to turn the striker's loan stay at White Hart Lane into a permanent arrangement as he has settled in superbly in The Premiership, but they have yet to strike a deal with Roma.

The fee would appear to be the stumbling block and Mido is aware that he may have to look for a new home this summer.

"Tottenham are still negotiating to keep me and I hope for that," the striker said on Egyptianplayers.com.

"But if it doesn't work out then it's not the end of the world, because if I'm not here next season I'll be playing at another club."

Mido is still struggling with a groin complaint and is unsure if he will be able to play again before the end of the season.

"It's an injury that I've had for the last week," he said prior to the North London derby draw with Arsenal. "I tried my hardest to recover but couldn't.

"When I started training again I felt pain in my groin tendon, so I had to get straight back off."
