Iniesta wants to play

Andres Iniesta wants to be a regular for Barca ahead of the World Cup.

Barcelona midfielder Andres Iniesta says he needs to be a regular in the Catalan giants' starting line-up if he is to hold down a place in Spain's World Cup squad.

Iniesta is a doubt for Barcelona's UEFA Champions League semi-final second leg against Milan as the Spanish side look to build on their 1-0 success in the first leg to secure a place in the final of the competition.

"I feel good here and would like to play and win with Barcelona," he told Corriere dello Sport.

"It's clear that a player always likes to play and I hope the team will allow me that possibility.

"If that isn't the case, and they tell me that, things would have to change.

"It's clear that the national team favours players who are regulars with their club and that has always been a target ahead of this summer.

"It is going to be an intense summer and I would like to play at the World Cup as a regular."

The 22-year-old still believes that the Champions League semi-final hangs in the balance, especially as they come up against a Milan side who in his eyes are the best in Italian football.

"We have an advantage but it isn't a decisive one," he added. "We must improve on it.

"I think Milan are the best team in Italian football. They are a team with quality."
