Jess happy at Sixfields

Northampton Town midfielder Eoin Jess is hoping for a new deal at the club.

Northampton Town midfielder Eoin Jess is hoping manager Colin Calderwood offers him a new deal at the club.

The 35-year-old is out of contract in the summer but, after a season where he has helped The Cobblers climb out of League Two, Jess admits he would like to carry on.

The Scottish international moved to Sixfields in the summer from Nottingham Forest and has played 40 times this season.

"I'd love to stay here and hopefully something will get sorted out," Jess told the club's official website.

"I feel fit enough to carry on and I want to carry on playing for as long as I can."

Meanwhile, fellow veteran midfielder Ian Taylor is considering playing on despite announcing this would be his last season earlier this year.
