Moyes: I'll tell Dunc
Everton's David Moyes has remained tight-lipped about Duncan Ferguson's future.
Everton boss David Moyes has praised goalscorers Duncan Ferguson and Victor Anichebe, but refused to comment on the big Scot's future.Moyes was disappointed with the 2-2 result against relegated West Bromwich Albion, but was proud of his team's efforts in the face of an outstanding performance from keeper Tomasz Kuzsczak.
"It looked like we wouldn't get anything from the game," he told Sky Sports.
"We kept going, but the keeper continually made great saves and you thought it might not be our day.
"From the opening five minutes we were the better side, but we were 2-0 down without having done much wrong.
"We kept going, but I don't think we got our just desserts because we deserved to win the game," he said.
Substitute Anichebe came on and scored The Toffees first, to set up the comeback and Moyes was full of praise for his young striker, while remaining tight-lipped on the future of out-of-contract Ferguson.
"It was great that Victor will go into summer with a lot of confidence and it means we've got another young striker," he commented.
"I'll only discuss Duncan's future once I have spoken with Duncan.
"We need to negotiate a lot of contracts, the same as most managers, but it wouldn't be fair for him to hear anything before I spoke to him.
"He has been terrific for the club and was again very good today."
Ferguson, whose contract runs out in the summer, looked like he already knew what Moyes would have to say to him, as he paraded the pitch after the game.
Surrounded by his family and team-mates The Premiership hardman had tears in his eyes as he walked around his Goodison home.
