Salgado wants Real stay

Michel Salgado has reiterated he will be staying at Real Madrid next season.

Michel Salgado has reiterated he will be staying at Real Madrid and would not accept a big-money offer to join Chelsea.

The full back has again been linked with a departure from Real in the summer and has become fed up with the constant rumours clouding his future.

In the past he has been courted by Premiership champions Chelsea, but Salgado declined the chance to move to Stamford Bridge.

He insists his future is in the Spanish capital, despite being aware of the competition from Cicinho and Diogo for a place at right back.

Salgado also revealed that money would not tempt him to join Chelsea after re-affirming his intent to stay put.

"I have made it very clear," Salgado told Marca.

"I do not see myself in another team.

"In this moment, I have determined to stay at Real Madrid and not take myself to Chelsea.

"I am not going to say I am losing much money, but I have made it clear I want to stay here for life.

"My future happens to be here and I want to retire here. That would be the best thing that could happen to me."
