Goalkeeper Jose Francisco Molina is set to leave Deportivo La Coruna this summer, and has set his sights on a switch to The Premiership. The 35-year-old has been first choice at Deportivo since joining from Atletico Madrid in 2000, and had been expected to pen a one-year extension to his present deal, which expires in June.
However, he is determined to fulfil his ambition of playing in England before he hangs up his gloves.
"I've enjoyed myself a lot during my six years at Deportivo," Molina told a crowded news conference. "I would particularly like to thank the fans.
"I've always dreamed of playing in England and if I leave it any longer I won't be able to realise that dream."
The former Spanish international missed five months of action in 2002 after being diagnosed with testicular cancer, but returned a club hero and is sure to be sorely missed when he departs.
