Nedved hints at retirement

Pavel Nedved is considering ending his career after the World Cup.

Juventus playmaker Pavel Nedved has revealed that he is considering ending his career after the World Cup.

The Czech Republic star recently came out of international retirement, but it now appears as though he may hang up his boots altogether.

The 33-year-old explained that he does not feel he can compete at the highest level for much longer, and will make his final decision after the World Cup.

"I do not have much of a future in front of me and I wanted to end in the summer," he said.

"I will wait and see. I want to fully concentrate on the World Cup, play good soccer, then anything may happen.

"I have a number of options, and retirement is one of them. I will be 34 in the summer and I will see what motivation I will have to play."

Nedved also cooled the anticipation in his homeland by claiming that Czech Republic cannot be regarded amongst the favourites for the World Cup.

"Maybe the fans think we can win it, but I do not know whether such optimism is the right thing. We have to be realists," he stressed.
