Wenger highlights Sol bonus

Arsene Wenger believes England can take great heart from Sol Campbell's form.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger believes England can take great heart from Sol Campbell's display in Wednesday's UEFA Champions League final.

The experienced stopper has had an indifferent campaign with The Gunners, but is hitting form ahead of this summer's World Cup.

Campbell produced a solid display in Arsenal's 2-1 loss to Barcelona on Wednesday, scoring their opening goal at the Stade de France.

Wenger believes Campbell's recent lack of action ensures he will be fresh for The Three Lions in Germany this summer.

"We can take at least one satisfaction from the night and I feel it is good for England," said Wenger.

"He will be competitive at the World Cup. He is rested because he has not played and he is very fit.

"I feel he has been sharper in the last two games.

"I am very happy for him because it shows that when he has to deliver in the big games he can do it."
