Chelsea have opted not to sign Portuguese midfielder Maniche.
Chelsea have opted not to turn Maniche's loan stay at Stamford Bridge into a permanent arrangement.The Portuguese midfielder arrived at Stamford Bridge from Dynamo Moscow during the January transfer window.
He made 11 appearances in Chelsea colours, but seemingly did not do enough to earn a permanent deal.
Chelsea chief executive Peter Kenyon has heaped praise on Maniche for his contribution in the second half of the season.
"He certainly contributed to the team while he was here," said Kenyon. "We make a big thank you for that and wish him all the best with his future.
"It is never easy for anybody coming into a team halfway through the year and he had some getting fit to do
"He was eager to prove his worth and what he contributed to the squad is not always just about what you do on the pitch."
