Denilson agent invites Celtic call

Denilson's agent has invited Celtic to make an offer for the Bordeaux winger.

Denilson's agent has invited Celtic to make an offer for the Bordeaux winger.

The 28-year-old is poised to leave Girondins when his contract with the Ligue 1 side expires this summer and Celtic have made a tentative enquiry but nothing more.

Agent Antonio Barrera admits his client would welcome interest from the SPL champions but claims there are other clubs also in the hunt for the former Brazilian international.

Tottenham have been credited with an interest in the player and Barrera is willing to entertain all offers, although he insists Denilson is in no rush to find a new club.

"I got a call 25 days ago from someone working on behalf of Celtic and we spoke about Denilson but we have received no offer from the club and there's been nothing since," he said.

"I don't know if they are thinking about making a move for Denilson or they have moved on to other players.

"I know Celtic are making enquiries about other players as we have had other enquiries from other clubs.

"We are free of a club now, after his Bordeaux contract expired, and he is obviously a top-class player who will attract interest from some of the top clubs.

"We are in no rush to find a new club but we would invite Celtic to speak about a move and make us an offer."
