Lyon are set to seal the signing of Swedish ace Kim Kallstrom from Rennes. The French champions have beaten a host of clubs to the 23-year-old - who is having a medical at The Stade Gerland.
The two clubs are close to agreeing terms and the player's agent Roger Ljung expects a move to be completed after the weekend.
"Everything will be settled when the clubs reach an agreement and that will be on Monday, I assume." Ljung told Sportbladet.
Kallstrom himself could not hide his joy at the prospect of joining Lyon.
"We should wait to talk too much before everything is settled, but it feels interesting and inspiring." Kallstrom stated.
"When Lyon came into the picture, there was nothing to hesitate about.
"I am now joining a club where I can win titles and play in the Champions League."
With Nantes' Jeremy Toulalan also looking set to arrive this summer - Lyon will be in a position to sell midfielders.
The main departure that has been suggested Mahamadou Diarra - but Lyon are fighting to keep him and the Malian may yet start next season with the club.
Two players who look set to depart, though, are Benoit Pedretti and Jeremy Clement.
Clement is wanted by Rangers, while Pedretti could join Paris Saint Germain - where his former Sochaux boss Guy Lacombe is.
