Brazil star Ronaldo insists he is unconcerned over constant criticism of his weight. The Real Madrid striker has been forced to put up with jibes over his appearance for some time for club and country.
Ronaldo has laughed off the suggestions that he is overweight and insists the media do not know what they are talking about.
"It doesn't bother me in the slightest," said Ronaldo "I think it's all down to a lack of knowledge. After all, what is fat.
"People have been talking about it for so long that nowadays I just take it as a joke.
"Nobody ever takes about exact numbers, about the percentage of fat. It's down to a lack of knowledge, a lack of information and a lack of something better to talk about."
Ronaldo also played down fears over his fitness despite not playing a game since early April.
The 29-year-old remains confident he will be in top condition the time they World Cup gets underway.
"This is like a pre-season for me, I'm coming back from injury and I haven't played for one and a half months," added Ronaldo.
"I'm very happy and I'm getting on with my job."
The former Internazionale striker insists he is not worried about finishing as top scorer in Germany and is only concentrating on trying to help Brazil retain their trophy.
"It's very difficult to make a forecast like that," said Ronaldo of being top scorer.
"The principal target is the collective triumph.... to help Brazil win a sixth World Cup. My personal success takes a back seat.
"In any case, if I score goals, I'll be helping Brazil to win the title."
