All parties have remained tight lipped on the reasons behind van Nistelrooy's fall from grace, although rumours pointed to a spat between the pair.
Ronaldo has confirmed the pair had a disagreement, but believes it has been blown out of proportion.
"Quarrels happen in all teams, in all professions," said the skilful winger. "It's normal to have small disagreements.
"That's what happened, something perfectly normal.
"People are turning it into something and it's only a storm in a teacup."
