Swans make Johnson move

Swansea City have confirmed that they have tabled a bid for Wycombe's Roger Johnson.

Swansea City have confirmed that they have tabled a bid for Wycombe defender Roger Johnson.

The 23-year-old, captain at The Causeway Stadium, has emerged as Swansea's number one transfer target and The Swans have wasted little time in making their move since their League One play-off final defeat to Barnsley last weekend.

Wycombe are currently without a manager, so Chairboys chairman Ivor Beeks will now have to consider the offer.

Johnson is one of a number of Wycombe players that have attracted interest, following The Wanderers' failure to secure promotion to League Two.

Full back Danny Senda is said to be attracting interest from Luton and Queens Park Rangers - so at least two of last season's defence could be set to leave Wycombe, meaning a major rebuilding exercise for whoever takes over from John Gorman.
