Robben: Van's in Ruud health
Arjen Robben insists Ruud van Nistelrooy remains focused on the World Cup.
Arjen Robben insists Holland team-mate Ruud van Nistelrooy remains focused on the World Cup despite the current unrest over his club future. It is widely expected that the prolific striker will quit Manchester United at the end of the World Cup after a campaign at Old Trafford that has seen him fall foul of Sir Alex Ferguson.
A move to either Spain or Italy has strongly been mooted, with United likely to be reticent to allow him to stay in The Premiership, but while speculation is rife, Robben is adamant that van Nistelrooy will focus on the job in hand.
The Chelsea wide man has praised his team-mate's professionalism and has backed him to deliver when it matters in Germany.
''He is a very good professional,'' Robben told Sky Sports News.
''At the moment he is with the national team and he is focused on that.
''Together with the whole team he knows what to do. He's focused and I expect him to do very well.''
While the world's finest players are busy preparing for this summer's showpiece, their respective clubs are already making inroads in the transfer market and predictably, it is Chelsea at the front of the pack, having already secured the services of Milan's classy marksman Andrei Shevchenko.
The Ukraine international has concurred on a £30 million switch to the Premiership champions and Robben is delighted that a player of his calibre has elected to move to the capital.
''He will be happy to join Chelsea and I am happy because he is a quality player for the team.''
