Real Zaragoza have admitted an interest in signing Gerard Pique on loan.
Real Zaragoza have admitted an interest in signing Manchester United defender Gerard Pique on loan for next season.
The classy former Barcelona youngster is highly regarded at Old Trafford but could be allowed to pick up experience in La Liga following January's arrival of centre back Nemanja Vidic.
Pique, who also impressed in an unfamiliar right back role in the win over West Ham last term, could be tempted by a temporary switch to Zaragoza in order to obtain more first team football.
Sports director Miguel Pardeza has confirmed that he has discussed the player with the club's new coach Victor Fernandez.
"We want players who are progressing and we have a list of those we're interested in," said Pardeza.
"Pique would be one of them."
Fernandez is believed to have spoken with United assistant manager Carlos Queiroz to get a considered opinion on the 19-year-old's potential.
