Bolton make Molina move

Bolton have stepped up their pursuit of Spanish goalkeeper Jose Molina.

Bolton are thought to have stepped up their pursuit of Spanish goalkeeper Jose Molina.

The Deportivo La Coruna goalkeeper is set to leave the Spanish side at the end of the month when his contract expires.

Depor decided against offering the 35-year-old a new deal and he has already stated his desire to see-out the remainder of his career in England.

Reports in Spain now say that Bolton boss Sam Allardyce has been discussing the details of a move for Molina with the player's agent.

Allardyce wants an experienced keeper as cover for number one Jussi Jaaskelainen at The Reebok and Molina certainly has a wealth of top-level experience to bring to the table.

However, Premiership rivals Portsmouth are also thought to be keen on Molina and will try and rival Bolton for his signature.

Pompey boss Harry Redknapp could offer Molina a better chance of regular action, with Jaaskelainen firmly entrenched in the number one spot at Bolton.
