Rooney returns to Germany

Wayne Rooney has returned to England's World Cup training headquarters in Germany following the scans on his injured foot - amid claims he has been given the all-clear to play.
The Manchester United striker underwent checks on his metatarsal on Wednesday morning after returning to England from The Three Lions' camp in Baden-Baden.
Rooney left a private Hospital in South Manchester with a smile on his face and he immediately made his way to the airport, where he boarded a plane and jetted back to Germany - which some have taken as a clear sign that he is okay.
It is unclear whether it is United or England who will be making the announcement - which was expected on Wednesday evening - over Rooney's participation in Germany, or indeed whether the two parties have agreed over the injury.
United club doctor Tony Gill, physio Rob Swire and England doctor Leif Sward were all present when Rooney had the scans - but if there was a disagreement an independent Fifa-appointed specialist was standing-by to make the final verdict.
England have until Friday to replace Rooney, but coach Sven Goran Eriksson has always indicated that he wanted to include the 20-year-old in his final 23-man party and it now seems the Swede will be handed a huge boost.
Early reports are suggesting that Rooney is fit - but there is still no official announcement on his fitness.
