Huth waits on Boro move

Robert Huth is hoping for more time before deciding whether or not to join Middlesbrough.

Germany defender Robert Huth is hoping for more time before deciding whether or not to join Middlesbrough.

Middlesbrough revealed earlier this week they had agreed a deal with Chelsea to sign the powerful central defender.

Huth's agent claimed a decision could be made this weekend over his future, but the player himself is still deliberating his decision.

"It is true I have spoken to them (Middlesbrough) about details but I haven't signed anything yet," said Huth.

"I honestly can't tell you when I will make the decision. It has to come from the heart and obviously from the brain as well.

"Could be now, could be tomorrow, could be anytime soon.

The 21-year-old admitted he would be interested in playing under new Middlesbrough boss Gareth Southgate so that he can learn from his experience.

"Southgate used to be great defender," added Huth. "If I decided to join them, I will hopefully learn a lot from him."

Huth believes the time is right for him to leave Chelsea after failing to hold down a place in the side during his three years at Stamford Bridge.

"It is time for me to move on in football," continued Huth. "With Chelsea I have had a good time.

"I have been there three years and didn't get much of a chance, even though sometimes I felt I deserved to play. I didn't get a chance and now it is time to go."
