Chedli to end Nurnberg career

Tunisian midfielder Adel Chedli says he will leave Bundesliga side FC Nurnberg.

Tunisian midfielder Adel Chedli has announced he will leave Bundesliga side FC Nurnberg.

The 29-year-old was relegated to the club's reserve team when coach Hans Meyer came in to replace Wolfgang Wolf at the helm in autumn.

To make matters worse he was sent off twice in reserve and friendly matches, and so he has now called time on his frustrating easyCredit Stadion career.

"I will not be staying at Nurnberg. I haven't been given a fair chance to present myself in Germany," Chedli explained.

"My parents taught me to respect others, but I have not received the necessary respect from the club.

"I have been accused of living alone and not being willing to integrate, but that wasn't the case at all."

The France-born player made his international debut in 1996 and he will be hoping to add to his caps when Tunisia take on Saudi Arabia in the first game of Group H on June 14.
