Drogba calm over future

Didier Drogba is unfazed by talk surrounding his club future at Chelsea.

Didier Drogba is unfazed by talk surrounding his club future at Chelsea.

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has spent big this summer recruiting top-class players and the arrival of Andrei Shevchenko has cast doubt over the Ivory Coast star's position at Stamford Bridge.

Mourinho has assured Drogba he has a role to play next term and with his coach's words ringing in his ears, the powerful striker is looking to focus on this summer's World Cup finals.

"Frankly, which player would not dream to play with Shevchenko, Ballack, Lampard or Makelele?" Drogba told France Football.

"When I see Jose Mourinho willing to keep me, I told myself it is not only friendship that dictates his behaviour.

"If the coach wants to keep me that means he is satisfied with my performances and my qualities."

Drogba claims he will consider his future later in the summer.

"It is true at each end of season you have to take stock and ask yourself some questions," he added. "But now it is not topical. At first I have a World Cup to play.

"If today there is speculation about me, that means I have worth."
