Strasbourg fume at Monaco

Strasbourg are unhappy Monaco are negotiating directly with Sidi Keita.

Strasbourg chairman Philippe Ginestet is unhappy Monaco are holding talks with Sidi Keita.

Malian midfielder Keita has a year left on his deal with Strasbourg, but that has not stopped Monaco getting in touch.

Strasbourg understand Keita does not want to play in Ligue 2, although they want to get as much as possible to fund a swift top-flight return.

"There have been discussions between the player and Monaco for a month," said Ginestet to DNA. "But neither the agent nor club have contacted us.

"Monaco has salary advantages because of the Principality, so they have offered Sidi a big wage.

"Sidi doesn't want to play in Ligue 2 and we understand that. He is from our academy so we want to benefit from his performances."
