Mijatovic outlines Real plans
Predrag Mijatovic intends to strengthen Real Madrid if he becomes sports director.
Predrag Mijatovic, who is in the running to become Real Madrid's new sports director, has outlined his plans for the club. The highly anticipated presidential election is just weeks away and one of the candidates, Ramon Calderon, is hoping to assemble his own backroom team, including Mijatovic.
Calderon's choice of coach is believed to be Juventus boss Fabio Capello, and Mijatovic is determined to lure the Italian to the Bernabeu.
"When Calderon first called me I started thinking about the coach and I've immediately found the answer," he said.
"I am working towards achieving positive results, but I can't say the name of the coach out of respect towards him and the club with which he is actually under contract."
Mijatovic also insisted that the Real squad would be strengthened considerably if he was selected as part of the management staff.
Milan forward Kaka, who has already been linked with a move to Madrid this summer, was again singled out as a potential target.
"One or two central defenders, a defensive midfielder and a forward," said Mijatovic.
"Kaka? He is one we are looking at, in addition to many others."
