Cottbus snap up keeper
Energie Cottbus have signed Hertha Berlin goalkeeper Gerhard Tremmel.
Bundesliga new boys Energie Cottbus have signed Hertha Berlin goalkeeper Gerhard Tremmel.
The 27-year-old, who was available on a free transfer, put pen-to-paper on a two-year deal at the Friendship Stadium on Wednesday after failing to establish himself as number one after two years in the German capital.
"Gerhard Tremmel is exactly the sort of player we have been looking for in order to build for the future," Energie general manager Steffen Heidrich told the club's official website.
"He has Bundesliga experience and both his age and skill will help the prospects of the club," he added.
Tremmel will now compete with Cottbus veteran Tomislav Piplica for the number one position before Die Bundesliga kicks off in August.
