Germans ignore yellow peril
Germany coach Jurgen Klinsmann will not rest players against Ecuador to avoid bans.
Germany coach Jurgen Klinsmann says he will not rest players against Ecuador to avoid suspensions.
Captain Michael Ballack, defender Christoph Metzelder and winger David Odonkor all go into Tuesday's final Group A match on one yellow card.
But Klinsmann insists he will play his best team in order to secure top spot in the group and he will not be worrying about possible last 16 suspensions.
"We are taking the Ecuador game extremely seriously," said Klinsmann.
"We want to win it and finish top of the group and so Michael Ballack will be playing.
"We want to keep our high rhythm going and want to continue the work that we have started so successfully."
Ballack, who missed the 2002 World Cup final after picking up two yellow cards, admitted that he will have to be careful on Tuesday, but insisted that his misfortune in Japan is no longer weighing on his mind.
The new Chelsea signing said: "I got over that a long time ago and don't even think about it."
