Stockport County have signed former Yeovil Town defender Michael Rose on a free transfer. The 23-year-old, who spent the latter part of last season on loan with Scunthorpe United, joins the Edgeley Park club on a contract until the summer of 2008.
Following his release from Huish Park last month, the former Manchester United trainee stated that moving to Stockport was the right decision for him.
"I met up with the gaffer and he told me his plans for the future," Rose told Stockport's official website.
"We had a chat and I liked the way he went about things. I was happy to sign for County.
"There were a couple of clubs I was talking to, but I think at the end of the day, County made me the best offer.
"I think at this time, it's the right club for me to join and I'm happy to sign here."
Rose's arrival at Edgeley Park follows the League Two club signing defender Mark Robinson to a new one-year contract.
The Hatters have promoted former youth trainee Michael Bowler by signing him to a 12-month professional deal for next season.
