Chester City have signed striker Drewe Broughton from Nationwide Conference side Rushden & Diamonds. The 27-year-old joins The Blues on a deal until the summer of 2008, as Chester boss Mark Wright looks to add to his attacking options for next season.
The former Norwich City trainee follows last week's arrival of striker Jermaine McSporran to The Saunders Honda Stadium.
Meanwhile, Chester defender Sean Hessey has signed a contract extension with the club until the summer of 2008.
The former Blackpool man made just 17 starts for the Cheshire outfit last season, but Wright was pleased to secure Hessey's services.
"I believe he was one of our most consistent players, but he needs to have a really good season and I think he has that in his locker," Wright told the club's official website.
"Sean has all the credentials to be a very good player, but I feel he just needs to work on the mental and fitness side of his game."
