Spain coach Luis Aragones was pleased with his side's exertions after they came from behind to beat Tunisia 3-1.Fernando Torres was the game's outstanding performer for Spain as his double, including a stoppage time penalty, was enough to see off an organised Tunisian outfit.
At the interval Spain were trailing through Jawhar Mnari's opener but the introduction of Raul, Cesc Fabregas and Joaquin in the second 45 minutes proved the catalyst for their impressive comeback.
''I knew it would be a very complicated and difficult game,'' said Aragones.
''They caught us on the break in the first half and then shut up at the back and it was tremendously difficult for us to break through.
"But in the second half we had a team with more touch and we were able to make more ground on the wings and then did more damage.
"After Cesc (Fabregas) took a shot and Raul got the goal, it became much easier to open them up."
Torres' two-goal salvo took his tally for the tournament to three, with the Atletico Madrid hit-man conceding that Spain had to work harder than they initially envisaged in taking the spoils.
"It was harder than we expected but it is important to win any way you can," said Torres.
"Today the team showed spirit and did not get downhearted when they were behind. As long as the strikers keep scoring we will progress in this tournament."
