Simone Perrotta says he will be fit to take his place in Italy's final Group E game with Czech Republic on Thursday.The versatile midfielder took a nasty blow to his leg during Saturday's 1-1 draw with USA and was forced to play on due to Italy having already used their three substitutes.
Azzurri coach Marcello Lippi felt the midfielder would not be fit in time for the crunch encounter, but Perrotta trained without restriction on Wednesday and is ready to take the field.
"I've recovered and enjoyed good training sessions today and Tuesday," said Perrotta.
With Daniele De Rossi suspended, the return of Perrotta will hand Lippi a boost as his side need a point to guarantee their progression to the last 16.
