Lachuer chooses Troyes

Experienced French playmaker Yann Lachuer has opted to join Ligue 1 side Troyes.

Experienced French playmaker Yann Lachuer has put an end to speculation about his future by opting to join Ligue 1 side Troyes.

The 33-year-old guided Auxerre to sixth in the league last season, but was released by the club after rejecting a deal to stay on at the Stade Abbe-Deschamps.

Nancy, St Etienne, Nice and Bordeaux had all been linked with the player, but he has instead chosen to work under tactician Jean-Marc Furlan, who has a reputation for encouraging free-flowing football.

"Yann Lachuer has chosen to join ESTAC," a spokesman told the club's website.

"The midfielder was in contact with a number of Ligue clubs and has now given his approval to our club.

"Yann has played 271 Ligue 1 matches and 37 European matches.

"He will have a medical and will join up with the squad thereafter."
