Argentine striker Daniel Bilos has agreed to join St Etienne from Boca Juniors.

Argentine striker Daniel Bilos has agreed to join St Etienne from Boca Juniors.

The French outfit are set to splash out ‚é¼1.8 million (£1.2 million) on the hot shot, who has been linked with Internazionale and Bayer Leverkusen.

Bilos had mixed emotions upon deciding to move to St Etienne as he has relished his time with Boca Juniors.

But the 25-year-old, who has played one unofficial game for Argentina, is looking forward to the challenge of French football with Les Verts.

"I am happy with the confirmation of the transfer, but I am also sad because I have to leave a team like Boca where I have always been treated very well," explained Bilos.

"I expect to have the same experience in France as in Boca.

"It's a difficult decision to leave Boca, but I knew that in any moment I was going to be transferred to a European team.

"I didn't know it was going to be to a French team, but I am happy because it's going to be a new experience.

"I have already asked many things about how St Etienne is and all the references are excellent.

"It's a great club. I have even spoken with an ex-team-mate at Banfield, Renato Civelli, who is in Marseille and he told me very good things about the French league."
