Bilos wanted Boca stay

Boca Juniors midfielder Daniel Bilos has regretfully completed his move to St Etienne.

Boca Juniors midfielder Daniel Bilos has completed his move to St Etienne, but has already voiced his regret regarding the transfer.

The 25-year-old won four titles in his short time at Boca, with the Recopa, the Apertura, the South American Cup all in 2005, and the Clausura in 2006.

He also achieved his dream of playing for the national side against Qatar, and has obviously not joined the Ligue 1 outfit in the most congenial of circumstances.

"If I had the choice, I would have stayed in Argentina," Bilos told La Nacion.

"I know it is a great opportunity for my family, it is football. I have experienced fantastic moments with Boca, we have won titles and I leave with melancholy."

Les Verts have high hopes for Bilos as a potential leader at the club, and have consequently handed him a three-year deal, but will not be impressed by his latest admissions.

They will be anxious to get him settled in France, if he is to succeed as anticipated at the Stade Geoffrey-Guichard.
