Pilgrims make it seven
Boston United have signed former Chester City striker Paul Tait.
Boston United have made former Chester City striker Paul Tait their seventh signing of the summer. The former Northwich Victoria, Crewe Alexandra, Bristol Rovers and Rochdale hit-man joins The Pilgrims after being released at the end of last season by Blues boss Mark Wright.
League Two rivals Hereford United, Mansfield Town and Milton Keynes Dons were all thought to be interested in the 31-year-old, but he opted to continue his career at The Staffmart Stadium.
"I had a chat with the manager (Steve Evans) and he basically persuaded me to join Boston," Tait told Boston's official website.
"In all fairness, it wasn't a tough decision after he had told me about the new players being added to a good nucleus already in place from last season.
"I came across Boston last season and I know a fair bit about a few of the lads, so I was glad to sign."
