Tigers tie up Turner transfer

Hull City have moved to replace Leon Cort with the signing of Brentford's Michael Turner.

Hull City have moved to replace Leon Cort with the signing of Brentford stopper Michael Turner.

The 22-year-old has proved one of the most promising defenders in League One over the past two seasons, and will now look to earn his spurs in The Championship having sealed a £350,000 switch to The KC Stadium.

New Tigers boss Phil Parkinson needed to reinforce his backline after Cort followed Peter Taylor to Crystal Palace, and moved to snap up the former Charlton trainee after coming face to face with him last season during his time as manager of Colchester United.

The tall stopper had been a key player for The Bees over the past 18 months, playing every game in last season's run to the play-offs.

However he will make a step up to The Championship for the coming season and has flown out to Spain to join his new team-mates for a training camp as Hull eye a successful season.
